On Vancouver-based Isomers’ new track “Entropy”, a brightly blaring synth Lead works its magic over steady percussion to reveal an aspect of the hook early on. The verses, featuring more subdued Vocals over crunchy synth-bass and hints of guitar, work naturally back into this lead synth, as the vocals assume an anthemic fervor not too distant from LCD Soundsystem’s more chorus-centered efforts. The project is fronted by Ian Somers, who contributes lead vocals here in addition to backing vocals from Natasha Thirsk and Kurt Dahle. Michael Hardy takes credit for the “bendy synth.” This is a bright, infectious effort with a consuming synth-pop approach.
