Kanye West once said that he’s never going to Church again since he made “Jesus Walks.” If anything could get him back in the congregation of the faithful, it would be a church using his lyrics to inspire, just like this one in London.
St. Andrews Church in the city of…wait for it…Hornchurch, placed some lyrics from “Only One” on its marquee to provide a message to uplift the parishioners. “You’re not perfect, but you’re not your mistakes” are the bars the priest chose to display. Elliot Wash, the man responsible for sharing this with the world, states that while he’s not a religious man, he always looks forward to the words of wisdom from his local church.
Did the priest pick the write lyrics, though? Kanye’s never been shy about wearing his religion on his sleeve, even going so far to declare that he is now God, so there’s plenty to choose from. If you’re from this town in London, don’t be surprised if “Everything I’m not made me everything I am” makes an appearance in the future. Obviously, the easy choice would be anything from “Jesus Walks,” so props to the man for thinking outside the box and digging a little deeper for words of wisdom and hope. All praise Yeezus indeed.
