Plant-based Comfort Food Not something I typically eat but I had to try the vegan double down last weekend at Coachella I was prepared to feel really disgusting afterwards and I honestly wasn’t at all!! It was so deliciousComfort foods are a great way to bridge the gap especially at events like music festivals where people are craving these foods. . A security guard desperately flagged down me as I was walking by and told me he HAD to know where I got it from Unfortunately, the split second my friend slipped and said “vegan” his face dropped in disappointment and was so grossed out. I really wanted to just ask him to take a bite but I hadn’t photographed it yet. . To me, the word vegan before anything makes my heart sing but I understand that it’s just a mental block people have with food and they assume it tastes bad I normally don’t even mention it because of this reason. I was a little frustrated with his reaction, but in order to shift the way people see food you’ve got to be patient or people will resent the lifestyle even more. When my views are questioned or someone reacts poorly to the word “vegan”, I know it must be met with positivity . Do you have experience with this from either side—vegans pushing their views on you or someone who would never try something if they knew it was vegan?
