Brand New Sound System Documentary ‘Nice Up The Dance’

Farah are joining forces with the legendary Rampage crew at this years Notting Hill Carnival this weekend and to celebrate have released a short documentary that looks into the influence of UK sound systems from the early days of Notting Hill right through its influence on modern culture.

The film features stars such as the BBC’s Soul and R&B figurehead Trevor Nelson MBE, godfather of UK hip hop and Carnival veteran Rodney P, pioneer of the grime scene and Boy Better Know member Jammer, reggae and dancehall champion Toddla T who recently fronted 1xtra’s Jamaican tour, Tipper Irie from the iconic Saxon Studio International sound system, UK reggae and sound system legend Sweetie Ire and authority on black music in the UK, head of music at Westminster University and former member of Steel Pulse, Mykaell Riley.  The film is fronted by Treble T from Rampage Sound System.

The Rampage Sound System will be the largest static sound system at Notting Hill this year and looks to have over 15,000 people attending at any one time. You can look forward to performances from the likes of Sean Paul, Stormzy, Swizz Beats, Shaggy, Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah, Mark Ronson, Buju Banton, Ryan Leslie, Ms Dynamite, Lloyd and Wiley.
