The Mixtape: Our Essential January Remixes! Feat. The Weeknd, Chloe Howl, Aaron Smith & More!

The Mixtape is brand new for 2016 at HTF and will be bringing you our choice of the hottest remixes on the web, all in one place! We know there is so much choice out there, so if you like deep house, hip-hop or electronic, we guarantee that there will be something on The Mixtape for you. Whether you want to download all the following tracks on our word, or use these as a kickstarter to trawl the internet and start your own collection, this is the place to be.

Sit back, relax, and listen to the treats we’ve got in store for you this week.

‘Good For You’ – Selena Gomez ft. A$AP Rocky (Nebbra Remix)

We haven’t been able to get enough of this one. Selena and A$AP made it into the top 10 with ‘Good For You’, while critics have said it is like Selena’s personal version of Beyonce’s ‘Partition’ due to its sexy lyrics and breathy vocals. The chilled out beat added by Nebbra makes this our hottest remix of the week.

‘Paper Heart’ – Chlöe Howl (Arches Remix)

You may have heard of Chlöe Howl. Back in 2014, she was nominated for a Brit Award and shortlisted for the BBC Sound Of 2014, narrowly missing out to Sam Smith. This remix is the perfect mixture of electronic and house with a seriously strong back beat. We love.

‘Drunk In Love’ – Beyonce (The Weeknd remix)

Not the most obscure remix, but there is a reason this one is so popular. The Weeknd has kept the tracks signature hook but added his own verses, breathing a new lease of life in Beyonce’s 2013 smash hit. It is available for download here, and well, it’s Beyonce and The Weeknd so…need we say more?

“Dancin'” – Aaron Smith (Krono remix)

Krono made some serious magic with this one. Whilst the original might suit some peoples taste, Krono’s addition of slowed down lyrics, a mellow baseline and a deeper voice, totally transformed the 2004 track into one of our hottest remixes.

“Say My Name” – Destiny’s Child (Cyril Hahn remix)

This one certainly earns it place on the mixtape. We all know the classic ‘Say My Name’ anthem released by the supergroup back in 1999. (Scary!) But have you ever heard it like this? Swiss DJ Cyril Hahn rids the track of the ladies voices, focussing on creating a chilled remix that wouldn’t sound out-of-place around the pool on your summer hols.

Are you a budding DJ with some serious beats up your sleeve? We want to hear from you!

We’re looking for the hottest remixes from you lot to appear in our fortnightly feature. We want to hear everything from mellow deep house rhymes to the dirtiest dubstep drops. Leave links in the comments!
