In The Woods festival has spent 10 years building its reputation for sourcing and breaking the next big names.
Our latest NEN Playlist comes from the team behind In The Woods festival, with a track for every act gracing those ethereally-lit forest stages: see below for the tunes.
Two stages, a secret location (somewhere in Kent) and set within a mysterious tree canopy, In The Woods Festival 2016 is bringing its ultimate intimate community-vibed festival for music fans back for its 10th year. This year’s line-up is seriously lit for this year’s birthday special: Benjamin Francis Leftwich will be joined by Will Joseph Cook, Let’s Eat Grandma, Strong Asian Mothers, Bad Sounds and many more.
Seriously, look at this:
Known for the place to check out the so-far unheard-by-the-masses acts, what started as a party for friends of the band Laurel Collective has become a much-loved annual pilgrimage for over 1,000 music lovers every year. Part of the event’s discerning beauty is how late the line-up is announced (like, now), and the ultimate curation ethos: the team behind In The Woods see every single booked artist live before confirming their attendance.
Previous acts booked well before breakthrough include Alt-J, Lianne La Havas, Young Fathers, Slaves, Years and Years, Kate Tempest and Jack Garratt, so you know you’re in good hands.
The acts play over 2 intimate stages under the beautifully lit forest canopy with intriguing art installations to be found along the way. Art Director Anna Mojab has given the 2016 In The Wodds festival a birthday party theme to celebrate its 10th Anniversary, so attendees can expect a heightened sense of occasion at this year’s event. Plus, locally-sourced food and ale, a silent disco and giant midnight bonfire keep things going until sunrise. We can’t even wait.
