Blessed with a musical prowess that radiates effortless versatility and an astute erudition - her influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone, Norah Jones and Sade - Nashville singer/songwriter/pianist Kandace Springs is in a position to articulate her talent in a myriad of ways. Able to adroitly draw on, and inhabit, multiple genres with instinctive ease, her musical sensibility is, however, underpinned by a unifying sentiment: the intuitive and uncompromising belief in the authentic expression of genuinely felt emotion. When Springs sings, the fact that such a sentiment animates the intimate wisdom and heartfelt honesty of her moving lyricism becomes immediately apparent; intricately expressive, maturely sensuous and richly soulful, her voice positively smolders with pure, unadulterated emotion.
With a talent so irresistible, it was no surprise that Springs stepped onto the music scene to widespread acclaim back in 2014. Framing the appeal of her lyrical and vocal charm with the r&b and hip-hop infused production her debut EP, she soon found herself gracing the late night stages of the Late Show With David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and appeared at festivals such as Afropunk and Bonnaroo - she also earned the co-sign of the late icon Prince, finding herself invited to perform at Paislely Park.
