Oh my what cool groove is this? Not sure but it feels vaguely central European (from a London based artist, how novel!) and whimsical but most of all it makes sense straight away despite the obvious quirky approach. Can’t help but cheer up everyone within earshot, a singalong for the kids and a toe tapper for everyone else. Skylakaki’s vocals are a very Close match to Dido but that mega seller never came this close to ebullient. Third album ‘Matterless’ is out shortly. KH
