As our 2019 concert season has come to a close, it is fitting to give thanks in particular to our most recent conductor Jason Howard who led us as our primary conductor from 2017 to 2019 and co-conductor for 10 years prior. The Band would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Jason for the countless hours he dedicated behind the scenes selecting our music and allocating rehearsal time so we could be adequately prepared for our performances. He was open to new ideas and balanced our repertoire between contemporary compositions and our traditional favorites. Jason devoted much of his life to the Rockport Legion Band as lead trumpet player and then conductor. We will miss his smile, his laughter, and his occasional banter.
