Ahhhh, so refreshing!

The title of this record tells you everything you need to know and then some. The first thing it tells you is that you are about to fizzle away like the gas in a freshly cracked-open chilled soda. (You can almost hear that sound - Ssssssssssss!! Aren't you excited already?) 

 The second thing it tells you is that it will quench that thirst you’ve had for really good music, and more specifically, really good hip hop music for a very long time, whether you knew you’d been thirst of not. No, you may not have been having hiccups (if you have, breathe in a paper bag, do not put it over your head), but the watered-down lyrical content, and lack of exciting wordplay and meaningful metaphors of today’s hip hop has been severely draining your soul. Whether you knew it or not you are about to be healed and re-energized. If you thought that old lady who was shaking at the alter and saying words you’ve never heard before when the preacher put his hand on her forehead during Sunday service was peculiar or even amusing, get yourself a mirror because that is exactly what is about to happen to you. Your inner hip hop demons are about to be cast out and by the time you are done listening to this you may even have a little bit of steam coming out of your ears – but don’t worry that’s normal.

Before we get right down to the production and all the rest of the good stuff, let’s explore what the song is all about. And yes, every good song is about something. If you didn’t know that you need to throw away all your CDs (oops!!, uninstall your Spotify app) and buy yourself a Sony Cassette Tape Walkman and some music from that era so that you can find out what good music really is. For now, let’s assume you know. So here it goes. “Pepsi Vibes” is a song about enjoying what you do and being the best at it every day and every single time you do it; a simple concept for a rap record right? Well wrong. Sadly Big Money Brezzy is not that easy to decipher, or else he would be so boring to listen to, like many new rappers today who, if they said they were “going to the shop” on a record were probably well, “going to the shop”. Listen to this record and you’ll realize Brezzy is on a whole other level when it comes to songwriting. Listen a little deeper and you’ll realize he’s got the same creative flair when making beats. Listen even closer and you’ll realize that you are listening to a revolutionary musical act that could potentially change rap music and take the genre to a place where even its pioneers wouldn’t have dreamed of in their wildest dreams.

So how’s the production? Well, amazing of course. It’s not as loud as many would have wanted it to be but it makes up for it by just being amazing creatively and conceptually. The beat seems simple but much like the vocals it’s got something tucked away in every corner, with dynamics that will get your heart racing. 

So now that you know what it's all about you may proceed to gently crack it open. Don't do it too fast though, or it may spray all over your face and clothes like a 13 year old virgin fresh out of quarantine.
