Provare Ancora – First single off Contemporaneità

Satoru Takamori, once said that to sing your heart out, it had to be in your mother tongue. Italy’s Morgana prove this with their album Contemporaneità, albeit with some very assertive French, too.

The four piece formed in 2019 with the intent to play post Punk, but in an unconventional way influenced by the philosophies and mindsets from the entire punk and antagonist world.

For a section of Morgana, this is their first band, but what is most admirable is the aggression sadly missing in some bands these days. This reminds some of us more open minded aging punks of what made us who we were to become to begin with. Contemporaneità is full of heated fury and, I hope I’m correct, anthems for the dispossessed.

The rage thrown at a society you don’t like is best expressed by youth. The fact that this band recorded a demo during the first lockdown of the pandemic, entirely self-produced and home recorded, and reached people globally through an article on “the best punk releases” on bandcamp, makes me respect them even more. (With a slight touch of envy.)

Morgana’s full length EP Contemporaneità is available on twelve inch vinyl and digital release.
