What first drew you into music?

Mainly what draws me to Music is music itself. Music was and will always be an escape for me. Music is something that has always been there for me regardless of what I’m going through. I love to listen to an artist with an amazing skill to write lyrics. Music defines my mood, there are songs that have been able to put in words how I was feeling without me being able to describe it. One of the first songs I remember hearing that made me fall in love with music was the “Flava In Ya Ear Remix” by Craig Mack and Notorious B.I.G

Your track “Benjamin Button” is absolutely amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?

Well I’ve been writing music since the 6th grade. I just recently within the past year or two began to take it seriously. I really started finding my signature sound when I found out who I was as a man and as an artist. I just also try to also have some fun with it. My creative process is pretty simple I listen to hundreds of beats a day if I can’t think of lyrics I like as soon as I hear the beat I move onto the next one.

Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?

I do like to experiment with different sounds and beats, I never want to be a one dimensional artist or put myself in a box. My studio set up is either at my house or at my Producer TwoKay’s studio in RI. My favorite instrument to hear on a beat is a Piano I feel like that instrument can just set such a mood or scene for a song.

Your music sounds very organic and authentic. Do you play any real-life instruments?

I try to live up to my name that’s why I chose the name Authentic. I do not play any instruments currently, but I do plan to learn how to play the Piano and Guitar

What are your musical goals for the future?

I try to set pretty high goals for myself some of those include having a platinum album, make the Billboard Top 100, and to win a Grammy.

What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

I actually have a lot in the works right now, I am currently setting up my own label called In2Deep. Members include myself and two other Boston artist Big Drip and Young J.E.B.

I have many songs with both artist. I also have a joint album coming out with RI artist King Cap, and another project in the works is a small EP with New York artist Kam Nasty. Plus I try to write two songs a day so I have a lot of solo music you can be looking out for.
