“KWESTIA” was released by “Boomslang Records” on May. Album was recorded by Ronny Graupe (guitar), Laura Schuler (violine) and Alfred Vogel (drums). The improvisations by all three musicians are full of interesting musical decisions, expressive and colorful contrasts, passionate and touching improvising and marvelous spontaneous solos. All three musicians are famous and creative avant-garde Jazz masters. Their Music is based on free improvisation and avant-garde jazz, but also has some relations with other jazz styles. The intonations of modern jazz styles, such as bebop, post-bop, hard-bop, neo-bop, contemporary jazz or fusion are also heard in their improvisations. Expressive, interesting and original playing manner, unique sound and rich musical language are the main things of their improvisations. The elements of classical harmony, rock styles, rhythmic forms of different music styles also are the part of the improvisations. Musicians are improvising creatively, expressively and with passion. The search of new timbres and colors, expansion of traditional zone of instruments sound, fascinating musical experiments and unusual sounds – all these and recently mentioned elements make an effort to inventive and modern sound.

The music of this album has bright and dynamic sound. It’s based on free improvisations, polyphonic musical pattern, constantly changing rhythmic and musical experiments. The active, rapid, expressive and evocative mood of the compositions is heard for the most of the time. Violin melodies by Laura Schuler are based on contrasts and colorful changes of various musical language elements. Improviser shows her own playing style and unique sound. Her improvisations are based on synthesis between avant-garde jazz, Scandinavian traditional music, contemporary and modern jazz. That makes an effort to soft, remarkable, warm and expressive sound. The melodies are based on Scandinavian music melodic and rhythmic intonations, soft and lyrical mood, various chords and rhythmic compilations. The synthesis between traditional Scandinavian music and avant-garde jazz is the main element of her playing style and she keeps to fuse these different music styles organically and naturally. Her violin melodies are lyrical for the most of the time, but also filled with virtuosic, expressive and passionate solos, free improvisations and sound experiments. Ronny Graupe guitar gently fit together with violin melodies. Expressive, vivacious and touching solos, subtle and abstract musical pattern, virtuosic and rapid passages, free and spontaneous solos, dynamic rhythmic and sudden stylistic and mood changes are the main basic of his improvisations. All these elements are used for a long time is his music – musician fuse together avant-garde jazz, experimental music, the elements of various countries ethnic music, contemporary and modern jazz, fusion and even some mild and far intonations with rock music or contemporary academical music. His music has rich, colorful and dynamic sound. Alfred Vogel drums section has subtle, gorgeous and colorful sound. Musician masterfully combines together different rhythmic forms and wide range of colorful and interesting percussion timbres. Loud drum rolls, expressive and striking solos, subtle and quiet solos, unusual timbres, repetitive and monotonic tones and dozens of different playing techniques – all these elements are naturally and organically fused together. The music of this album has modern and interesting sound.
