Enter Red Bull Studios' Raise The Bar Lyricist Competition For A Chance To Work With Team Salut!

Red Bull Studios has announced the second Raise The Bar, a platform which discovers underground talent and challenges them to take their music to the next level. This series is open to all of those budding vocalists and rappers enabling them to work in the hottest, hi-tech studios with leading producers. Five of the entrants will ultimately get the chance to record with Afrobeats production trio Team Salut, in the Red Bull Studios, London (which has been used by the likes of A$AP Rocky, Little Simz, Stormzy and Skepta.
Team Salut is a trio of self-taught multi-instrumentalists who have brought together a fusion of their roots from Ghana, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. They have worked alongside some of the biggest names including Not3s, Tion Wayne, Afro B, Sneakbo, Yxng Bane, and Geko whilst producing Eugy x Mr Eazi’s anthem of the year ‘Dance For Me’. They collaborated with Naira Marley on their recent hit 'Wagon' and are currently in the studio with Cheryl Cole.
The first instalment of the Raise The Bar series kicked off with grime MCs from all over the UK participating in the event, including Mez, Snowy and Dubzy who’s profiles have noticeably grown since. Eyez, who made it onto the final track in the inaugural Raise The Bar with producer Z Dot says; “Raise The Bar helped to make the creative connection that me and Zdot have. I would recommend up and coming musicians to enter this year’s Raise the Bar as it’s a big opportunity with endless possibilities”.
For a chance to win this incredible opportunity; aspiring artists must perform their lyrics over Team Salut’s instrumental ‘Lover’ which is available here. Artists must be over the age of 18 years old to submit.
Red Bull Studios will be hosting an open studio for emerging artists on February 3rd from 4 pm – 9 pm, where entrants can jump in the booth and vocal the beat for submission.
For those who cannot attend the open studio session, you can submit via social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) by uploading a clip of yourselves rapping or singing over ‘Lover’ and using the hashtag #RaiseTheBar and tagging @RBStudiosLDN. Team Salut will pick ten of their favourite submissions which will then go to a public vote to decide which five artists will make it onto the final track.
