A new release from FØNX titled 'Don’t Feel Like Lovin’' is a fast-paced tune with a nice swing in the vocals. With a jazzy feel, FØNX's lyrics switch between a man who doesn’t want to Love anymore after a heartbreak that was the final straw and then encountering someone that makes him feel so intensely that he “could die.” Personally, I dig his take on the topic because it is a common feeling in today’s age to want to avoid love like the plague…until we come across that person who makes us feel differently, and suddenly we’re throwing ourselves back into the game despite the chance of ending up where we were before.
‘Don’t Feel Like Lovin’’ follows FØNX's debut release, ‘Can’t Get Enough’, and the new track was produced with Grammy award winner Tommaso Colliva (Muse, Damon Albarn).
In the music video, FØNX dances through multiple arcade games and takes the viewer on a journey through cartoon clouds and vivid colours, into his own video game and back again.
FØNX explains, “This video for me represents a journey of Finding love to losing love and finding yourself as an independent person again. I’ve always had this battle with balancing my love for music and relationships and finding time for both. This inspired the visual concept for the arcade machine game that I animated…as Amy Winehouse once said ‘Love Is A Losing Game’.”
The tasty guitar solo is what really sold me on this song because you can really hear that R&B influence in it, and it was crafted perfectly into the song. Not too long. Not too short. The solo was just right. If you’re a fan of snappy, jazzy, R&B with a little heartbreak in the mix then you should give 'Don’t Feel Like Lovin’ by FØNX a listen.
