Chloé Bodur's Debut 'Glory' Is A Jazz Infused Neo-Soul Delight

If calm late night writing was to be expressed through music, this is where to find it. As a big music fan, North West Londoner Chloé Bodur has opened my ears to a new range of music taste I had not tried before. Chloé fuses elements from Neo-Soul, Jazz and Pop into her immersive music creating unique artwork resonating throughout the whole of the UK.
You shall find Chloé Bodur amongst talented vocalists such as Corinne Bailey Rae and Billie Holiday; I am surprised Chloé is not part of the family tree! At 19, she is already receiving the stamp of approval from industry professionals for her polished and dynamic sound. Empowering young women with her unapologetic lyricism, QM Records comfortably picked up Chloé to release her debut single 'Glory'.
'Glory' is the embodiment of emotional rawness. With a laid-back approach, the song
lyrically takes things slow and lets the deep, soulful feeling within the music explain itself with passion. This is a similar thought process Jessie Ware promotes, especially in her latest album 'Glasshouse'.
Chloé says, “I originally wrote ‘Glory’ as a poem about youth trying to find love in themselves and in others and the relationship between those two things. I think a lot of people struggle with self-validation nowadays and have this underlying sense of loneliness that temporary distractions can’t fix; so I wanted ‘Glory’ to narrate that.”
I have to show massive appreciation for the production of 'Glory' by Top 10 Charting producer JD.Reid (Mabel, Katy B, Sinead Harnett, D Double E) and mastered work by Alex Gordon at the famed Abbey Road Studios (The Kooks, Raye, Sigrid, Circa Waves). The intro is filled with hot bodied funk guitar riffs laying a sweet Marvin Gaye foundation into the track which sets the perfect mood as Chloé Bodur is a self-confessed romantic. Hypnotic jazz melodies ride on syncopated drum grooves ideal for Chloé to drive with her smokey vocals, 'Glory' could be considered to be at the forefront of its genre. 'Glory' has been given Track of the Day on numerous BBC Introducing stations, as well as being added to rotation on Jazz FM.
Deemed the most promising new act and already selling out live shows, Chloé Bodur is ready for the next step of her musical endeavour with the highly anticipated release of 'Glory' available now on all major streaming services.
