Christina Martin is an Americana/Rock singer-songwriter from Canada who returns with her brand new single 'Lungs Are Burning' and continues her UK tour. This memorable new track is the first single from Christina's forthcoming album via Come Undone Records/Tonetoaster. 'Lungs Are Burning' is incredibly powerful, evoking much emotion from the lyrics as it is based on the rising crisis of the Fentanyl drug killing thousands of Canadians. Christina perfectly captures the desperation of “chasing the dream” and the horror of living it. The song has a strong, punchy rhythm with killer guitar riffs, intertwining harmonies and smoky, theatrical vocals. The song is a collaboration between Christina and her husband and guitarist/producer, Dale Murray.
Christina Martin says of the track, “The song is a modest attempt to bring light to the heavy topic of addiction and reflects my own personal sense of loss, longing and a deep void, and the ache I feel from losing my brother and friends to addiction and mental illness.”
Originally from Canada, Christina Martin started writing her own Music and gigging on the Austin, Texas bar scene at the beginning of the noughties before returning back to Canada in 2003. For the past nine years, she has been recording and touring in Canada and internationally. During this time she has built a fan base, played in big and small venues and earned many East Coast Music and Music Nova Scotia Awards. With songs featured in films, on television and having performed at music festivals around the globe (including Rolling Stone Weekender Festival, Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, International Folk Alliance, Reeperbahn Festival, Canada Music Week), Christina continues her journey doing what she does best, singing personal songs about love, loss and determination.
