Coinciding with the release of this lyrically refreshing project, Translee debuted his title track visual which recreates the Freedom Riders and todays controversial stance on African Americans and the police.

Freedom Summer’s name was inspired by the 1964 “Freedom Summer” (Mississippi Summer Project) that was a nonviolent effort by civil rights activists to integrate Mississippi’s segregated political system. “‘Freedom Summer’ is all about freeing yourself from the status quo and regaining control over your vices… be and think for yourself,” Translee states.
