The Atlanta Hawks are currently under .500 with a record of (13-14) after a (107-99) lost to the (15-13) Charlotte Hornets on Saturday December 17th at Philips Arena. The Atlanta Hawks started the game strong and it was a tightly contested ball game for all four quarters. The Hawks were battling the Hornets in a matchup for first place in the NBA’s Southwest division but a strong second quarter for the Hornets may have been the difference in the game.

Following the game, we caught up with Atlanta Hawks own Coach Budenholzer, Tim Hardaway Jr., Kyle Korver, as well as Charlotte Hornets own Kemba Walker and Cody Zeller. For the Hawks, Coach Bud spoke on the Hawks effort on offense and defense and how he is looking to turn their recent losing into wins. Kyle Korver who finished the game with 7 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. who finished with 21 points both spoke on the Hawks tough losing stretch, turning things around and their upcoming matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday December 19th.

Charlotte Hornets big man Cody Zeller spoke on his big night in the paint and facing Hawks big men Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap. Zeller was (8-14) from the field with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kemba Walker’s play during the tonight led the Hornets to the victory. Walker spoke on facing the Hawks, competing against Dennis Schroder, first place in the Southwest division and more. Kemba Walker finished the game with 18 points, 10 assist and 6 rebounds.

The Atlanta Hawks are back in action on Monday December 19th on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Hawks return home on Wednesday December 21st as they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
