It is heartening to see how the custom motorcycle scene across the world keeps on shelling out drool worthy creations one after the other. It is also of a particular delight that the art form is finding its roots much further away from its traditional roots as well. However, that said, the old school pioneering part of the world is still on the top of its game when it comes to breathtakingly gorgeous yet fairly subtle custom builds. This 1971 Ducati Scrambler Belstaff By Tarform is a perfect example of just that. Build by certain Taras Kravtchouk, a Swedish Product Designer based out of New York. Taras is also a founder of a design agency called Gravity Hill that has won a few awards as well.

Taras had done a successful branding work for Belstaff in New York. Belstaff, a well known Clothing brand from UK is known for being the first ever clothing manufacturer to use wax cotton in water proof apparel for motorcycle riders. The company clearly satisfied with Taras’s work, contracted him for a project that was to have a custom build motorcycle to be kept at Display at the Madison Ave flagship store. We reckon they would have known the absolute skill and expertise that Taras has with a wrench, the result of the collaboration was great enough that four years hence, Taras has been behind the built of several bikes that have been on display as far as Tokyo. Thus no wonder in its final form this 1971 Ducati Scrambler Belstaff is pure class suiting its special destination in Milano.

Since it was for a special company no usually known base bike for custom build would have done it for Taras. The search ended on eBay in Florida with a 1971 Ducati Scrambler 250 that would suit the Milano’s richness and feel perfectly. Once procured, this Scrambler 250 was transported to Taras’s workshop based out of Brooklyn. Taras started off with the base step of stripping the bike apart to its bare basics. He then went on to clean the entire frame and added the custom rear subframe to incorporate the custom hand-shaped seat. The minimalist looks were further glorified with an addition of longer travel rear suspension. The rear suspension on one front increased the rear height and on the other gelled well with the new clip-on handles bars to create an unmistakable yet distinctly special minimalist café racer form for this 1971 Ducati Scrambler Belstaff.

Tarform also gave the creation a raw polished metal feel by stripping of the paint off the stock tank. The same effect was carried through majority of the bikes build with a target to put emphasis on the stunning Ducati engine. The sleek tank then got the Belstaff logo prominently painted on it, adding further to the designs understated class. It however, is a huge pity that something as gloriously captivating as this 1971 Ducati Scrambler Belstaff is destined to be just a display piece for a shop.
