‘Moltar’ by Thrive Motorcycle has to be the most stunning Royal Enfield custom build till date
For the ones drenched in motorcycle world’s history Royal Enfield is a brand with a stellar legacy and for a vast number of riders in South-East Asia (especially India) Royal Enfield’s are a part of culture and folklore. However, in between in these two, the brand is still trying to have a proper global foothold. With a product line up that isn’t exactly ‘big capacity’’ for developed market nor a build quality that inspires the customer base globally (though the company is rigorously working towards solving these issues). The company also needs to promote the customisation part much further to bring in more fun to the brand and this is where this Royal Enfield Scrambler by Thrive Motorcycle in collaboration with RE Indonesia comes into picture. Called the ‘Moltar’, this might just be the most stunning RE based build we have ever seen.
As the global power base in the motorcycle industry is shifting towards the SE Asia region, it is also bringing a new wave of custom builders with their own unique style at the forefront of global custom motorcycle scene. The brilliant folks at Thrive Motorcycle from Indonesia are a prime example for the vast talent the region has, and they are laying foundation for the others to follow. Royal Enfield Indonesia had approached Thrive Motorcycle for the build with an open brief but a short two month window.
This meant that Indra Pratama and Barata Dwiputra from Thrive got busy straight away. Being a company sponsored build, the idea was to keep as much of the original DNA as possible in the build. This meant, Thrive decided to refine the originals design instead of going all radical and go for a Royal Enfield Scrambler.

To start off, a Bullet 350 was stripped down and it was decided that the bikes stock tank deign will be kept however, it was to be reworked into a much smaller unit than the stock. Similar decrease in size came for the original RE side panels while the right profile got a new custom cover. The building genius of the bright folks at Thrive is evident in the design of this new custom cover that flawlessly wraps the all new custom stainless steel high mounted exhaust. While the front half of the Royal Enfield scrambler ‘Moltar’ bears much resemblance to the original Bullet 350, the rear half gets a new subframe with a custom oxblood leather seat. Thrive further added a tiny little ducktail to the rear fender. The rest of the rear design completes with a minimal registration number plate along a neatly mounted LED tail light.
Just like the rear end, the front of the Royal Enfield Scrambler “Moltar’ build by Thrive Motorcycle also saw a design reworking. There is now a much smaller headlight mounted inside a new housing. Interestingly, to stay true to the originals legacy, thrive has given this new housing holds for clocks and ignition just like the stock. The list of new additions continues with new handle grips and a new throttle from aftermarket providers. The above mentioned along with new mini-switches were then fitted on new cross-braced custom handle bar. Other additions came with a new Daytona air filter and off-the-shelf indicators.

Since this Royal Enfield Scrambler ‘Moltar’ build could not have been just an all-show (like most other RE build) custom, thrive made sure it had a performance to go with the looks as well. To give the build a true Scrambler air, Thrive gave the ‘Moltar’ a 19 inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel setup that now wears Shinko off-road rubber. The Off-road prowess further extended with a new set of YSS shocks. The custom build one-off skid plate and high mounted front fender are particularly well done along with the subtle new rear brake and shift levers which are from Thrive’s catalog itself and are stunning. Furthermore, these off-road footpegs also include replaceable and adjustable pins.
The idea of a Royal Enfield scrambler that seems as if it came from the factory itself was rather spectacularly achieved by Thrive Motorcycle without an iota of doubt. The subtle touches like the use of chrome on tank with a black and gold livery along with small logos as well as markings all across the build lends a fairly special air to the whole build.
