TAG Heuer’s first ever full-ceramic chronograph.
The Heuer-01 was presented for the first time at Baselworld 2015 as a part of TAG Heuer’s new collection that brought new ideas and a completely new design to the table. The watch featured a new case design with 12 different modular elements that would enable the wearer to experiment with multiple combinations for colours and materials.
The 2017 version of the same that was recently unveiled, bears a full case as well as bracelet made out of ceramic. Based on the company’s best seller, the Carrera HEUER-01 uses black ceramic for the case, bezel, lugs and case middle, giving it a distinct unique look while offering the highest levels of scratch resistance.
To ensure that the Carrera HEUER-01 Full Black Matt promises 100 meters of water resistance, the inner chassis, screw-down case back and push-pieces are made from stainless steel to enable proper functioning and sealing from the gaskets. The 45mm TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic will be available for a price between CHF 5000 – 7000 ($4690 – $6950) depending on the version.
Ceramic watches present the perfect solution for watches as they are highly scratch resistant and boast a unique soft finish. That said, if one is looking for a lovely patina from their watch after years of wear, they need to look elsewhere.
