We’ve all seen the stunning BMW, Honda and Triumph Cafe Racers being built, but what about Kawasaki? Well Mario of MRS Oficina changed that when Kawasaki commissioned a build from him. They gave him a Kawasaki Vulcan to build into a custom cafe racer that was unveiled at the Salon de la Moto in Paris. This is by far one of our favorite Kawasaki Cafe Racer builds to date. The MRS Vulcan Cafe Racer is pure sex with exquisite design.
Starting with a stock Vulcan 650 S, Mario needed to change the whole stance of the bike. He went with a custom built swing arm that features a unique off center shock design. The box style sub-frame is pretty much stock and to our surprise flows perfectly with the lines of the bike. The rear shock was upgrade to an Ohlins unit with the remote reservoir being mounted on the opposite side.
Now to get the lines of the bike to flow just perfectly, Mario turned his attention to the tank and seat. This is where his stunning metal fab skills come into play. The Tank and the seat are completed hand fabricated out of sheet metal to form a single unit. The fit and finish is stunning and I can only imagine the time that went into this piece. Custom MRS emblems were made to finish off the tank.
Stock Vulcan wheels were just not going to make the cut. Instead, a set of aluminum spoke wheels wrapped with race slicks were used. The help this bike stock, an after market rotor hooked up to a Beringer brake master cylinder was used. We have always been a fan of Beringer. Not only do they look awesome, they perform even better. Up top on the triple, is a Motogadget Chrono Tach and also a Motogadget Tiny Speedo for dual functionality.
All in all this is one of the most exquisite examples of a Cafe Racer we have seen. The MRS Vulcan Cafe Racer is a true testament to Mario’s craftsmanship and metal fab skills.
