How To Grow a Beard: The Guide To Your Manliness

A lot of people spread a lot of lies on how to Grow a Beard. It doesn’t matter what they tell you, most of it is absolute guff. Today people will say stuff like it matters how much sunlight you get, or what age you are, or what race you are etc. There is really only one thing you need to grow facial hair…

Patience.

The amount of time needed to ensure good growth will certainly vary from person to person. It could take a week, it could take two or three weeks (this is probably the average) or it could take longer.

Each person is different in how fast the hair follicles on their face will grow. In order to grow out a full and proper beard, you will need two to three months on average. Again, this will change from person to person. Each guy will have a different pace of growth. Some guys will be all done and dusted in a month, whereas others won’t have one for a month or more.

Of course we understand that the difference from guy to guy can be disheartening for some people. This, more often than not, leads guys to grab a razor and get rid of the bush before there’s a chance for the it to really grow.

If you do manage to avoid the temptation and keep it growing, watching it grow can be an extremely long and boring process, and it sometimes makes you look a bit grosser than you would like!

Alas, don’t fret. We are here at the ready. We’re here to give you the definitive guide to growing a beard. As we said, some guys will take longer, and that’s totally fine, but with this plan, you will be able to get through the hard times and will be stroking your mane in the period you need to let it shine.

We have also added a few proven tips that will make it grow that little bit faster and fuller. Not everyone can grow a huge shrub, but with this guide you will definitely be making the most of what the good lord has bestowed upon you!

Plus guys remember – growing a beard is one of the best things you can do and it’s actually good for you.

Day 1 – 7: Leave it alone!

The true art of how to grow a beard is to do nothing. Isn’t that wonderful? Just do nothing. Don’t shave. Chill out. Have a beer. Go for a run. Eat chicken wings. Do whatever you fuckin want, man.

By the by, increasing protein helps hair follicles grow on the face, and so don’t shy away from meat, eggs, nuts and fish. Get it into ya son!

Protein is a building block for growth and restoration, and so get some protein into you every day.

Also, don’t stress. People lose their hair due to stress. It’s scientifically proven!

Day 7: Ease that itch

You’re a week in, and you’ve done nothing. That’s great! Now you need to take some proactive action, as opposed to eating eggs and steak. Eggs and steak are great, but they won’t teach you how to grow a beard.

Get yourself some Beard Oil.

This is pretty essential to beard growth, and for your own comfort (and they smell great also). We have you covered on what beard oil to get, and so get on over to amazon and get some of the good stuff.

The reason you should get beard oil is because your face has gotten used to the bristles, and the bristles will begin to soften, but with beard oil they will soften further, which conditions them and encourages them to grow.

With beard oil, you’ll be sorted.

Day 8 – 11: Scrub it

When you don’t shave, you’re not removing the hair on your face (obviously) but you are also not removing the dead skin that lays on the top and forbids the new and healthy layer to breathe and function at their best (it’s a bit gross, I know).

Instead of running for your razor to get that horrid stuff away asap, get yourself a facial scrub for men. We have used an awful lot of them, and recommend this one more than any of the others.

Day 12 – 13: Vitamins & Minerals Help BIG TIME

Make sure you’re getting enough fruit and veg in your diet. Vit

amins A, B, C and E are scientifically proven to increase hair growth. Lots of fruit are full of these, such as apples and oranges, and there are also a lot of them in spinach and tomatoes.

Day 14: Start Sculpting

You will probably have some facial hair at this stage. It also may look a little messy in appearance and you want to start that grooming process. You need to do three specific things:

  1. Look at where your hairline is. This is USUALLY just over an inch under your cheekbones. All skin above that point is to be left alone.
  2. The hair beneath the chin shouldn’t curl or sway upwards. Keep it straight at all times, or it won’t look good.
  3. Get rid of that hair curling over the upper lip. It looks gross and it’s going to have anything you eat stuck in it. It’s not cool, ever. Really. A lot of people get confused when learning how to grow a beard and think this is a good thing. It’s fucking not.

Day 15 – 19: Do Nothing

At the two week mark, we’re back to doing nothing, yay! A good thing to do is to actively look at dudes with sweet beards. Your pitiful and disgusting beard envy will give you the desire to continue. If you shave here, you have failed and are a failure.

Don’t be a failure, be awesome. The answer to being awesome is growing a fucking beard.

Day 19: Exercise

Lifting weights is fucking manly. You want to be a guy who lifts weights. But aside from that, you need to be exercising because it’s a natural way to accelerate facial hair growth.

Day 20-23: Fill It!

Give yourself a really good going over in the mirror. Your hair will NEVER grow evenly throughout, and the sooner you find any visible bald spots or patches and take some beard balm with your beard oil and massage into the beard. The balm is full of incredibly enriching nutrients, and also, it helps to shape the beard around these patches, making the whole thing look a lot fuller.

Day 24 – 27: Continue Treating Effectively

Your beard needs to be moisturized MORE than uncovered skin. If you have dry skin, it means dead skin cells are there, which will completely ruin any growth spurt you would like to benefit from. Use beard oil, beard balm and a good eucalyptus or agave moisturizer. Eucalyptus encourages hair growth, and massaging it into your beard will definitely improve your beard.

Cleaning is also of huge importance. Wash your face and beard, but do not over-wash it. That’s a mistake. Guys can sometimes overdo the washing. Hair products do NOT work the same way on your beard. Don’t make this mistake. That’s why you need beard balm and beard oil.

In addition to this, you can get some excellent Beard Wash products. They’re not full of silicone and chemicals and they won’t clog pores.

Day 28 – 30: The Big Guns. Beard Trimmers

You now probably have at least a moderate proportion of your face covered in hair. Now it’s time to buy a beard trimmer. Some of you will have a lot of length here and some of you will still be growing slowly. It doesn’t matter, you still really need to have a beard trimmer if you want to look good and maintained on a continuous basis.

Having the best beard trimmer for you if the most important thing for your beard, without a doubt. Ignore it at your peril. The amount of trimming you do will be of personal preference, but you want to get one asap.

Day 30: Go To a Pro

Get down to your local barber and get him to tidy everything up in a professional manner. He’ll suss it out. Don’t be a novice and think you will be able to do it all yourself. You will in the future, but right now, a few visits to the pro is in order. Although you’re giving trust to a different person, he will do a good job.

Hope you enjoyed this guide on how to grow a beard!
