My ultimate Liverpool bar crawl

Since moving to Liverpool to study my degree, I have become familiar with everything the city has to offer. From shopping to food, the history of the city and the best places to visit on a night out; the list is endless. It’s no secret that being a student means you become acquainted with the local nightlife and Liverpool is one of the best cities to celebrate any occasion. Whether it’s a night out with friends, a stag do or a quiet Bar Crawl; there are places to visit that will suit the whole party. For anyone wanting to experience Liverpool’s drinking scene, I’ve teamed up with Excess Baggage to share with you some of my perfect places for the Ultimate Bar Crawl. Before we get to my top choices, here’s what they have picked out:

And here’s mine:

The Merchant

If it’s a laid back, casual drink you’re looking for, then The Merchant needs to be in your bar crawl. With its rustic materials, live music, greenery and beer garden for the summer months; The Merchant offers the perfect atmosphere for a quiet drink with friends or a more upbeat place to stop on your crawl. It’s also good to know that The Merchant offers a selection of food including burgers and pizzas, just in case you need to line your stomach.

Shipping Forecast

Nestled in the Ropewalks area of Liverpool, Shipping Forecast has the full package, all under one roof. Whether it’s an afternoon meal and a drink or somewhere to dance late into the night, it’s the perfect venue for all occasions. Since opening its doors in 2010, Shipping Forecast has hosted some of the best local and UK bands, bringing a unique experience to your night out. If you’re in Liverpool then I’d definitely recommend this fantastic venue!

Dockleaf

Located in the Cains Brewery area of Liverpool, Dockleaf provides a more chilled vibe and the perfect setting for a more relaxed stop on your trip around the city. Offering a selection of American and European beers, as well as an extensive list of cocktails, you can enjoy the live music and botanical décor in a more laid back area of the city. Located on Dockleaf’s doorstep is the popular Baltic Market, offering a variety of tasty street food from all over the world, meaning you can grab a quick bite to eat before you’re next stop.

Kazimier Garden

If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a nice refreshing drink during the summer months, then Kazimier Garden is the place to be. A hidden gem within Liverpool city centre, Kazimier Garden provides the perfect spot for a drink outdoors, with its live music and delicious BBQ food during the summer. Whilst enjoying a nice drink and taking in the upbeat atmosphere around you, you’ll find it hard to believe you’re in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

So there you have it, just some of the places I would recommend for the ultimate bar crawl in Liverpool. Whether you’re after a relaxed or more livelier night, the city has something for everyone. With endless places to stay, eat and drink; Liverpool is the perfect destination for a UK break.
