Jun 8, Dealing with ADHD and Diabetes

When I understood the connection between Adhd and Diabetes -- and did something about it -- life began to come into focus.
The habit of letting sugars and desserts be a big part of every meal was a hard habit to break. Some people can apparently process refined carbohydrates better than others. I wasn't one of them -- I should have known this by noticing that both my grandmothers were fat and diabetic.
But, that's not something you notice when you're a child. From all that I've read over the years about sugar, it is a poison to all of us, but some feel it more quickly than others. I was one of them.
It is better never to give a child the taste for sweets, although that may seem very restrictive and even "cruel". Sugar is a drug, though, just like heroin -- especially to those with diabetic tendencies. Why give a dose of an addictive drug to a child with nearly every meal?
Breaking the sugar habit is one part of how to solve the problem of ADHD, which Dr. Wallach and other experts say is connected with diabetes, a sugar-processing problem for our body.
So, getting the sugar out of my diet entirely was one part of the solution to an emotional and mental "roller-coaster" ride. The other part was to give my body the supplemental nutrients Chromium and Vanadium to improve my defective insulin function.
The herb Kratom also helps in this process. It has been shown in a laboratory test that Kratom helps our body get our blood sugar into our cells, where it is needed to make energy for both muscle and brain cells.
See this page for the details.
With all the distractions of modern life, if you stillneed some help with focusing on your work, AddieUP is something I've found very helpful. It is strong, so I take only a part of a capsule.
