Feb 12, Mother Blames Kratom for the Suicide of Her Child - Really?!

Tags: kratom

What's Wrong With Today's Youth? Two, who couldn't control their addictive tendencies, kill themselves rather than overcome this minor challenge, according to their mothers. There has got to be more to the story of John Eden -- just as there was a more powerful reason for Ian Mautner!
Commit suicide because you can't find the strength or a tool (like kratom) to help you quit drugs? How shortsighted!
Now, the sad tale of 22-year-old John Eden is being brought out to lead parents to believe that kratom causes suicide. This is another classic story told in a one-sided attempt by a grieving mother to cope with her sadness, but is kratom really to blame?
Any young man who commits suicide because he doesn't have the self-control to quit -- or at least take a break from -- kratom, has some psychological issues that are much worse than kratom "addiction".
And how many herbs can be banned before our governmental agencies run out of funds
Who suffers when herbs like kratom are banned? There are an estimated 5 million consumers of kratom who take it, some of them daily, to help with diabetes, energy, pain, drug withdrawal, and anxiety. What will they do if kratom is banned?
I know so many people who were on the verge of suicide when they discovered kratom. People with chronic Lyme Disease, Lupus, Chronic Fatigue, Multiple Sclerosis. Kratom put all thoughts of suicide behind them and let them get back to the activities of daily living with gusto.
For some reason a few people tend to become addicted to all manner of things, from food, to alcohol, and to drugs. Shall the majority who find benefit in kratom be denied the freedom to use an herb that causes less harm than most of the OTC and prescription alternatives?
Why are newscasters helping a grieving mother dictate the future of millions of Americans who are quietly, peaceably using kratom to enjoy a better quality of life, just because her son was unable to cope with life?
When will we hear from all those who died due to poisoning by prescription opioid drugs?
Or, was John Eden's problem actually other "drugs", as he said in his suicide note? He had also complained of not being able to quit Phenibut, which is very difficult (unlike kratom) to quit. Perhaps he was using kratom as many do, to get off of prescription painkillers or psych drugs?
We will never know the truth because Georgia did no toxicology report and his mother may not want her son's memory to be tarnished with the unpalatable truth.
