Here comes the Rain again, literally! Just as I am sitting down to write this I hear some thunder outside. I know that my little doggie and kitty are hiding now since I know if I heard it then they did too. Since it was not supposed to rain today it kind of surprised me a little. But I just had to make a run to the store and grab a couple of things, you know essentials like coffee and candy, and I saw it was getting dark on the way home. I should know better than to believe a Weather person or in this case the Weather Channel app on my cell phone. Living in Jacksonville, Florida now and growing up in Daytona Beach you would think that I would have learned by now that it is a good bet that on any afternoon or evening we are going to get at least a shower.
Enough complaining about the weather. Something good about that is at least it is not as hot today as it was yesterday. Yesterday the heat index was well over 100 degrees. For anyone that lives anywhere except the states, that is in degrees Fahrenheit. For the rest of the world that would be about 38 degrees Celsius.
Now I really am done complaining about the weather, I promise!
I was actually having a pretty good day today until I had to go out and run to the store. As most of you are aware, I am sure, when you have Multiple Sclerosis heat is not your friend. Now the muscles on the backs of my legs, the hamstrings, are cramping up on me, But a nice bath with either some Dr. Teal’s Epsom salts or Dr. Teal’s liquid. It is a foaming bath. So if you are like me you remember your mother using Mr. Bubble in the tub for you so I think there is just a comfort angle to some of this. Anyway, I have the Relax & Replenish liquid right now. That may be just what I need after a day of slaving away at this computer.
Lately, I have been battling leg problems daily it seems. If it is not pain, it is numbness. And that makes it interesting to go get more coffee. And yes, in the afternoon I switch to decaf. I have been very tempted to call my neurologist to see if I could get my appointment moved up. I am guessing that he will want to do a video call with me for this appointment. That seems to be the way most things are going right now. But, he never gives me a real exam. Might test my reflexes and have me walk down the hall for him. The first real neuro that I had actually gave me an exam every time I saw her. She wanted to see how my musculature was doing. I do miss her but she moved back home on me.
But I have not been able to do a lot of research on what is happening in the medical world regarding MS. I have an inbox full of stuff that I need to read. So expect a post in a day or two about what is actually happening in the world outside of my little corner.
So everyone stay safe and healthy until then.
