Decoction of the unripe fruit is good for diarrhea & scurvy.
The fruit aids in combating diarrhea & dysentery & promotes the healing of intestinal lesions in ulcerative colitis.
Mashed banana with milk & sugar is an excellent supplementary or weaning food for children. Because of their high energy content, bananas are also used in the diets of children being treated for severe malnutrition.

Banana young leaves are used as dressings for skin wounds to treat inflammation.
The juice of the plant is taken to cure hemorrhages, cholera, epilepsy & hysteria.
Banana leaves are used as a cool application for headaches.

The powdered roots of banana are used to treat anemia & cachexia.
The mucilage from tender roots is used to check hemorrhage in genitalia & air passages.
The sap of the roots are used as enema for diarrhea.

Banana seeds used to treat inflammation of the mucus membrane of the nose & throat.

The flowers are taken as an infusion in normal doses for painful menstruation.
The fresh flower can be cooked & eaten for the weak heart.
The cooked banana flowers are used to treat diabetes & heart burn.
Sap from the flowers are used to treat earaches.
Unripe fruit & cooked flowers are useful in diabetes.
The juice of flowers is used for dysentery; stem & roots are used for disorders of the blood.

If you’ve got a bug bite, poison ivy rashes, psoriasis patches, you can take your banana peels & rub them into your skin.
If you experience burning, which psoriasis often causes, or itching from allergic reactions & bug bites, place the banana peel into the fridge until it becomes cool & then place the chilled peel onto your skin for instant relief.
The ash of the banana skin is used for dressing wounds.

PRECAUTIONS:

High carbohydrate presence combined with tryptophan content in this fruit is feared to affect user's state of awareness influencing brain activity & bringing sleepiness.
Migraine headaches may be aggravated by consumption of bananas & alcohol.
Powdered banana when inhaled can induce allergies.
The leaves & roots of Carica banana contain cyangenic glucosides which form into cyanide, while the leaves contain tannins. These two compounds may have adverse side effects when taken at large concentrations.

RECIPES:




100 g sugar
3 eggs,separated
1 big ripe banana,mashed
100 ml passion fruit pulp (4-5)
butter+sugar for preparing ramekins

Oven 190C.
Butter 4 ramekins with butter & lightly dust with sugar.
Beat the egg yolks with 50 g of sugar until pale & smooth.
Beat in the banana & passion fruit pulp.
In another bowl beat the egg whites to soft peaks.Add in the rest of the sugar & whisk until meringue-like.
Gently fold a little egg white into the yolks,stir,then add in the rest.
Fill the souffle dishes to the top,level off with knife,put on the baking sheet & bake just below the middle of the oven for 12-14 min or until puffed & golden.
Remove the souffles from the oven,dust with the icing sugar & serve immediately.

Milkshake

600 ml vanilla ice cream
200 ml Greek yogurt
2 bananas
200 g frozen strawberries
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp chopped basil
Blend it all.
Serve immediately.

Strawberry & Banana Milkshake

200 g strawberries
1-2 small bananas
50 g sugar
juice of half lemon
500 ml vanilla ice cream
300-500 ml apple juice
Blend it all!

Roasted banana ice cream

3 medium ripe bananas
75 g brown sugar
375 ml milk
2 tbsp sugar
1,5 tsp lemon juice
0,5 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Oven 200 C
In a small baking dish,chop bananas,toss in sugar.Bake ca 40 min,until bananas are cooked through,caramelized & golden.turn once during cooking.
Blend hot bananas syrup from the dish,milk,lemon juice,sugar,vanilla & salt until smooth.Chill in the fridge until cold.
Place in a plastic container,pop in a freezer & whip every few hours.

Banana Pancakes with Strawberry Coulis



3 eggs
300 ml flour
1 tsp baking powder
250 ml milk
a pinch of salt
2 tbsp sugar
2-3 bananas
juice of half lemon
Whisk the eggs a bit with pinch of salt,add sugar & mashed bananas.
Combine the flour, baking powder & milk with the eggs & mix until it forms a smooth, thick batter.
Heat a non-stick frying pan over a moderate heat with knob of butter.
Pour some of your batter over the pan & fry for a couple of minutes until it starts to look golden & firm. 
Turn the pancake over. Continue frying until golden.

Strawberry Coulis:
250 ml strawberries
75 ml sugar
juice of half lemon
Combine the strawberries, sugar & lemon juice.
Purée until smooth.

Pineapple & Banana Meringue Puddings


227 g pineapple pieces in juice
3 tbsp cornflour
2 large eggs,separated
275 ml pineapple or apple juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
50 g sugar
2 medium bananas
Preheat the oven to 190C.
Drain the juice from the can of pineapple into a medium-sized saucepan.
Blend the cornflour into this juice,then stir in the egg yolks & vanilla extract.
Heat,stirring all the time with the small whisk until the mixture boils & starts to thicken.
Remove the pan from the heat & stir in the half of the sugar.Tip in the pineapple,then slice in the bananas & stir together gently.
Spoon the mixture into 4 individual baking dishes or large heatproof teacups.
Place on a tray & bake for 5 min whilst you make the meringue topping.
Whisk the egg whites until they hold their shape.
Tip in the remaining sugar & whisk again until the meringue is glossy.
Pile onto the hot desserts & bake for 5 min until billowy & golden.

Early Stages of Diarrhoea & Dysentery:


Eat a Banana Peel for an Extra Boost of Nutrients, Fiber & Antioxidants.
Boil the peel for 10 minutes.
Then toss the peel into your juicer or blender with other fruits in order to mask any bitterness.

For Indigestion: 
Take a ripe banana along with a cup of milk at bedtime.

Piles:
Boil a mashed ripe banana in 1 cup of milk & take 2-3 x a day.

Cough: Mix 1 tsp black pepper powder with a mashed ripe banana & eat 2-3 x a day.

Jaundice & Typhoid: Mash a ripe banana along with 1 tbsp honey & eat 2 x a day for a few days.

Banana Peel Vinegar:

Place 1 kg of sliced banana peels into 4 cups of water & bring it to a boil.
Remove peels from the pot & squeeze their juices into the pot.
Add 4 more cups of water with 1,5 cup of sugar & bring it to a boil.
Drop the temperature & stir for 15 minutes.
Pour into a jar ,add 1,5 tsp of baker’s yeast,cover & place it in a cool place for a week.
Strain & add 1 cup of vinegar & leave it for 4 weeks.
Heat the liquid on low temperature for 10 minutes.
Pour it back into the clean jar & keep in a dark cool place until you are ready to use it.
The entire process takes 2 months.

For Diarrhea:
Boil the raw banana, mash it & add a pinch of salt & butter.

You can also puree a small amount of ripe banana & add a tsp of honey to it.
Apply this spread to a slice of well-done toast as the toast will help to absorb excess fluids within the gastrointestinal tract as well as provide bulk to the stools which helps to reduce the severity of diarrhea.

Chronic Constipation:
Slice a banana along with a pear & an apple.
Drizzle a spoon of honey over the chopped fruits & if you wish to you can sprinkle a spoon of crushed nuts over this fruit platter.
Eat this every morning as it will provide your body with the dietary fiber it requires.

Eat banana at night to get relief from constipation.

Mash 1 ripe banana in 1 cup of milk & drink it at least 2-3 times a day to treat skin allergies.

Banana Peel for Treatment of Warts:
Use the inner part of the peel & cover the wart by taping it.
Once the peel turns black remove & continue this for some weeks to get relief from wart.

Banana Peel for Poison Ivy Rashes: 
Rub the inside of the peel over the rashes; it soothes the skin to provide a cooling effect.
If your skin is very sore, rubbing the peel on your skin may actually increase your discomfort.
In such a case, you can use the blunt side of a knife to scrape the insides of the banana peel so that you get a thick grainy paste.
Gently apply this paste to the affected portions of skin to help reduce the irritation & inflammation.

Banana peel can be used for bruises:
Tape it overnight or if the bruising is severe, use this method 2-3 x a day to help reduce the discoloration & speed up the healing process.
Rinse & dry the area gently before applying a new piece of banana peel to your skin as this will increase the effectiveness of this treatment.

For Hangover:
Drink banana milk shake mixed with honey.
In very severe cases, where ingesting food causes nausea & vomiting, puree a small banana along with an apple & slowly consume 1 tbsp of this mixture at a time.
Drink only small amounts of liquids for the first few hours & then have this mixture once more.
This will help to stabilize the gastrointestinal system as well as get rid of the waste products in the digestive & urinary system.

Alcohol Addiction:
Drink a small glass of the boiled mixture consisting of 3 banana peels, Tabasco,milk from 1 coconut & brown sugar.
Let it ferment for 3 days & add snifter of liquor.
Take it for 9 days.


BEAUTY:

Banana Anti-Wrinkle Treatment:

Mash 1/4 banana until it becomes a smooth paste.
Cover your face with it & leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with warm water followed by splashes of cold water.
Pat it dry.
An extract of the trunk's juice can be used to massage scalp to promote healthy growth of hair & preventing hair loss.

Banana Sugar Scrub:

Lightly mash 1 banana with 3  tbsp of granulated sugar, 1 tsp of olive oil & a few drops of vanilla extract.
Get in the shower & before turning on the water, massage the mix all over.
Rinse.

Teeth Whitener:

Cut off a piece of the peel & rub the inner part gently over your teeth for a few minutes, then rinse off.
Repeat 1-2 x daily for whiter looking teeth.

Skin Brightener:

Gently rub the inner peel over your skin then rinse off afterward.

Wrinkles:

Rub the inner portion of the peel over your target areas.
Leave on for 30 minutes before rinsing.
You can also leave on over night & rinse it off in the morning.

Acne Treatment:

Rub the affected area for a few minutes then rinse, repeat 3 x daily.

Soften & hydrate dry skin with banana peels as you would to fight wrinkles & acne.

Puffy Eyes:

Use banana peels over your eyes to give you a bright, freshened look.
