Feb 12, Evaluating CBD for Best Value

There seems to be a lot of confusion -- and perhaps some deception -- in the promotion of CDB oil and water-soluble CBD. Helping you make a wise purchase of CBD is the purpose of this blog, if CBD (cannabidiol) is something you're interested in trying.
There are indications that CBD is helpful in improving insulin function, but the one definitive study I found doesn't split out the effects of the CBD component from the other components of the cannabis plant. From my experience, the improvement in my sleep quality and stress levels alone would argue that, by these measures, CBD is a valuable aid in helping avoid diabetes.
In the U.S., the best CBD oil comes from the flowers of the hemp plant, not from seeds, stems, and leaves. (The DEA still views this non-psychoactive chemical to be a Schedule 1 drug, but they aren't doing much about it at this point.)
The bio-availability of CBD is further enhanced by making CBD oil water soluble. This saves our body energy in assimilating the CBD molecule and thus may essentially improve absorbability and thus justify a higher price.
When buying CBD, either in oil form or water soluble form, I find it critical to understand that by diluting the product, the seller can adjust the potency and sell the products for virtually any price you're willing to pay.
I would be hesitant to buy CBD solely based on low price.
Posted independent third-party lab results of the CBD potency in the products for sale -- giving the buyer an accurate read-out on what they are buying -- would eliminate much of the guesswork involved in buying CBD. Until this becomes a widespread industry practice, it makes sense to buy from vendors you know you can trust.
