A variety of factors may cause dark circles around the eyes including extreme pigmentation, skinny and translucent lower eyelid pores and skin overlying the orbicularis oculi muscle, and shadowing attributable to skin laxity and tear trough. Autologous fats graft is an efficient methodology for the treatment of lower lid dark circles, however irregularities attributable to leaving visible lumps of the fat can occur. Tonnard et al. suggested ‘nanofat’ Grafting and launched its traits and medical applications. The authors used their Nanofat Grafting to correct decrease eyelid dark circles.
Nanofat grafting was carried out in 19 patients for dark lower eyelids. The
grafts have been injected into subdermal layer utilizing blunt cannula. Microfat grafting with nasojugal fold was carried out to all of the patients. Amongst them, 18 patients received transconjunctival fats elimination at the same time.
All of the patients showed a lot improvement from preoperative dark coloration. There have been no visible lumps of fat, contour irregularities, or fat necrosis. Postoperative edema and ecchymosis are minimal.
