Samsung J7 Max Vs Samsung J7 Pro : Which is better ?

Samsung's J series of smartphones are the most sought after devices in the mid-range category in India. The company has expanded its J-series lineup with Galaxy J7 Max and Galaxy J7 Pro to strengthen its position in mass-mid segment smartphone market and cater to Indian consumers. Both these two devices are packed with unique features like Ultra Data saving, S bike mode, S power planning especially ‘Made for India’.

Design

Samsung J7 Max and Samsung J7 Pro both boast of a full metal unibody design with curved 2.5D glass on the front. Their top and bottom ends have antennas and are made up of plastic with brushed metal finish. Both of them sport fingerprint sensors embedded in the home button in front. While the Galaxy J7 Max is a bigger 5.7-inch phablet, the Galaxy J7 Pro sports a 5.5-inch display screen. J7 Pro is more curvier with fancy antenna lines whereas J7 Max looks like last year's Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime. However, Galaxy J7 pro looks more classy and has better design of the two. Both these devices come in black and gold colours.

Display

The display of both the phones have 1080p resolution but their display type differs. J7 Max comes with Full HD display while J7 Pro comes with Super AMOLED display offering sharper and crispier images with good viewing angles and oversaturated colours.

Configuration

Galaxy J7 Pro is powered by a 1.6Hz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. On the contrary, Galaxy J7 Max is equipped with 1.6GHz octa-core MediaTek CPU (unspecified chipset) with 4GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt memory, which can also be expanded upto 256GB via microSD card. In terms of software, both of them run on Android Nougat-based TouchWiz UI and support dual SIM functionality, Wi-fi and 4G VoLTE connectivity.

Camera

The Camera performance of both the devices is same as both of them have 13MP rear and front-facing cameras with LED flash. The selfie camera will have an f/1.9 aperture lens while the back camera will have an f/1.7 aperture ensuring great picture quality in low light conditions. There are very few smartphone cameras in the budget category with this awesome aperture value. Also both the devices have "Social camera" feature which will allow fast and quick editing of images along with adding Snapchat-like stickers and Instagram-like filters to the photos, thus enhancing social media experience of the user.

Battery

While the Galaxy J7 Max is backed by a 3,300mAh battery, the Galaxy J7 Pro comes with a bigger 3,600mAh battery. They lack quick charging feature and charge to full capacity in 3-4 hours.

These new phones come with Samsung Pay mini which allow the mid-segment consumers to pay their transactions through Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and e-wallets. Samsung J7 Max is cheaper and has higher RAM than Samsung J7 Pro. Lookwise, J7 Pro looks better with huge internal storage to store lot of data, photos, videos and music. Galaxy J7 Max is available at all online as well as offline stores in India for INR 17,900. The J7 Pro will go on sale in India sometime in first week of July for INR 20,900. At price range around 20K, both of them are little expensive but they are highly suitable for buyers who want the likes of Samsung.
