PUT THE Phone DOWN!
I have had a bit of misfortune when it comes to technology lately, primarily my cell phone. My services were accidentally disconnected and I have to wait for my carrier to fix it. Since Saturday I have had zero service on my phone unless I am connected via Wi-Fi. It has been a delight and a nightmare all at the same time.
Delightful Lack of a Smart Phone
I have completely enjoyed the fact that I don't have a functioning phone when I am driving. This has helped me become a more focused driver. Let's face it, when my phone starts going off, I NEED to check it. It's a compulsion. I even get phantom vibrations and I think my phone went off even when it didn't I now just throw on music and drive. That's it, end of story. It's also nice because now it never rings for any reason at all. I feel more focused not having to check it all the time.
The Overwhelming Darkness Consumes my Smart Phone
Now on the flip side, I HATE IT! I can't talk to my wife on my drive home. I can't listen to pandora, people can't text me for ANYTHING! I can only communicate via Email and only when I am connected to Wi-Fi. It's the worst.
I do feel that I am probably addicted to my phone, if you asked my wife she would say absolutly yes I am addicted. This leads me to the fact that this is a flaw that I have with myself and someone I love has with me. I need to man up and break this addiction.
Think about your own addictions that might be affecting your family in a negative way. Do you ignore family for electronics of any kind? If you need help breaking these habits, try telling someone about it and working with that person to help you become the best you can be.
BE THE BEST MAN YOU CAN BE!
