Amazon has come out with the second generation of its Echo speakers, and customer reviews of the product have been positive, garnering an average of 4 stars out of 5.
And on December 6, the online retail giant will add a limited edition Echo with red charcoal fabric cover.
What makes the product special is that $10 of the purchase price of $99.99 will go to (RED) to support the group’s efforts to fight AIDS through the Global Fund.

It isn’t the first (RED) had partnered with a consumer brand. TechCrunch mentioned that (RED) had worked with Apple.
(RED) was established by U2 frontman Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 with the purpose of tapping people and companies in the fight against AIDS.
(RED) works with the world’s most notable brands “that contribute up to 50 percent of profits from (RED)-branded goods and services to the Global Fund.”
Going back to Amazon Echo, it is a voice-controlled, hands-free device that connects to the Alexa Voice Service.
It can play music, make calls, send and receive messages, set alarms and times, provide information news, weather, sports scores, and many more.
With regard playing music, a user just has to ask for a song, artist, or genre from Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, and other music streaming platforms.
Echo also has seven microphones, beamforming technology, and noise cancellation, so the device hears a user from any direction—even while music is playing.
A user can also ask Alexa to control the TV, request an Uber ride, order a pizza, among other tasks.
As Christmas approaches, those who can’t make up their mind about what to give to a friend or relative can consider buying an Echo.
