TDUK signs partnership with Education institutes

Skills meet Knowledge. Timber Development UK (TDUK) has entered in a partnership with Edinburgh Napier University and New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE). TDUK believes this partnership will help increasing knowledge and skills for timber designing and construction.

This partnership will produce a library of technical documents. This library will be created by Edinburgh Napier University and will provide free access to TDUK members and will cover information regarding timber supply, building constructions and design considerations. The library will have books covering information for engineers, architects and specifiers.

Technical knowledge is something that is constantly changing. A technician with experience of decades might face hurdles as new technology is been updated. The library is believed to help these technicians with updated knowledge and bridge the gap.

The library has been created to bridge the knowledge gap of the technicians which is often very common. The knowledge gap often makes the entire set of activities risky and inaccurate. The partnership is believed to enrich the technicians with immediate knowledge as well as create a support data base.

150 reports from leading wood and science and timber specialists have reached before the library is launched. It is not the first time when an education institute partners with the professional firm but in the wood industry it is surely a step forward.

TDUK chief executive, Dave Hopkins has said this library will benefit most of the student learning curriculum as well. The pressure from ESG is increasing and thus it is really important for the technicians to stay connected with the technicians. The partnership with Napier and NMITE will improve the knowledge development and help existing technicians with updated knowledge.
