The Vacuum specialist J. Schmalz will be attending the HOLZ-HANDWERK 2018 trade show for machine technology, equipment and supplies for the wood crafts from March 21 to 24 in Nuremberg, Germany, and showing its broad range of products for the woodworking industry in Hall 10.0 at booth 306. These products include clamping equipment for CNC machining centers and vacuum lifters for ergonomically handling boards and windows.

No matter the type of CNC machining center, whether it’s a console, grid or flat table system, Schmalz will have just the right vacuum clamping equipment on show, such as the VCBL-K vacuum block series for console tables, which can be used to clamp both boards and solid wood parts. These vacuum blocks are available in a number of variants, heights and geometries, and they are mechanically pre-installed on the consoles to prevent slippage during setup. A hose-free vacuum system is used to fix the vacuum blocks to the console and simultaneously lock the workpiece to the vacuum block.
 
The VC-S and VCBL-B series of vacuum blocks are designed specifically for console tables from the Italian manufacturers SCM/Morbidelli and Biesse. They represent an affordable alternative to the original suction cups and may be used flexibly in combination with them.
 
For the modernization of CNC machining centers, Schmalz will be showing the vacuum clamping system Innospann, which can be retrofitted in any CNC machining center regardless of manufacturer and type.

This means any machine table used for single-item batches or with frequently changing products can be retooled quickly and easily.

Vacuum lifters facilitate transport and handling tasks during production. The Vacuum Tube Lifter JumboErgo can be used to transport bulky and heavy wooden boards, pre-cuts, and pieces of furniture easily and ergonomically. The grip on the JumboErgo vacuum tube lifter is designed to operate like a motorcycle gas grip. This allows moving workpieces with fine precision and accuracy. The JumboErgo is also equipped with a 90-degree pivot function (for feeding vertical saws, for example).

At the trade fair in Nuremberg, Schmalz will also be presenting the VacuMaster Window vacuum lifter for handling windows, sheets and other parts made of glass. It permits easy, safe, and gentle transporting of loads up to 500 kg. Its operator can move large windows around vertically, rotate them 360 degrees, or swivel them 90 degrees, all at the push of a button on the operator handle. An air saving function for the vacuum generation is also available. This allows the operator to significantly reduce energy consumption. The suction plates used in the VacuMaster Window are durable and resistant to UV and ozone, and they leave no visible marks on delicate surfaces.
