Maruti Suzuki WagonR is a tallboy hatchback based on the Heartect platform sharing its underpinnings with other Maruti cars too. This car features a simple and stylish exterior profile brimmed with elements such as sweptback halogen headlamps, alloys, ORVMs with turn indicators, tall taillights etc.

Meanwhile, the interior has a beige theme and a simple dashboard layout. The car features a spacious and comfortable cabin with ample headroom and legroom for all passengers. It features a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, power windows, and a multi-function steering wheel.

Powertrain Options

Maruti Suzuki WagonR is available with 2 engine options complying with BS6 phase-2 emission standards. The base engine is a 1.0L 3-cylinder K-Series Petrol unit making 66hp of power and 89nm of torque output. The 1.0L K-Series engine is also available in the CNG version which produces 56hp of power and 82nm of torque output.

Meanwhile, the higher variants feature a powerful 1.2L 4-cylinder K-Series Petrol engine producing 89hp of power and 113nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki WagonR is available with the options of a 5-Speed Manual Transmission and an AMT Transmission.

Pricing and the Competition

Maruti Suzuki has priced the WagonR in the range from Rs. 5.55 Lakhs to Rs. 8.50 Lakhs Ex-showroom. This car continues to compete with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Tata Tiago.
