Own a TVS iQube? You Could Be Eligible For A Refund. Here’s How

TVS Motor Company recently announced that it has fully complied with all requirements laid down under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles in India) policy documents and CMVR.

The company reiterates that it is fully committed to the Government of India’s vision to promote electric mobility and fully supports the Government of India’s initiative to enable faster adoption of electric mobility, development of electric vehicle eco-system, and in spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, all the electric development that has happened in-house.

TVS Motor Company said that it is fully committed in building the electric vehicle eco-system in India and is always willing to render all necessary cooperation and assistance to the Government of India.

In order to improve the customer choices on charging time, the company gave off-board chargers from May 2022 when it launched the current variants of the iQube e-scooter. Due to ambiguity & doubt in the interpretation & understanding of the FAME II Policy, the two-wheeler giant now offers a charger as part of the overall price of the vehicle effective from April this year.

As a goodwill gesture and to show appreciation to the customers who purchased Tvs Iqube from the period May 2022 until April 2023, TVS will implement a benefit scheme for its customers who have paid over and above the threshold limit fixed by FAME.

In some of the cities, the prices including chargers are within the threshold limit specified by FAME.  In some cities or specific models, we are slightly higher than the threshold limit of FAME.  The average refund is around Rs.1,700/vehicle.

Over the course of the coming two to four weeks, TVS Motor Company will be reaching out to customers who are eligible for a refund. The overall cost impact to TVS Motor Company is less than Rs. 20 crores.
