Zhangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau actively plans the overseas market expansion to fully support foreign trade enterprises to get more orders, expand the market, maintain the market share and promote the stability and quality of foreign trade. The first overseas exhibition organized by Zhangzhou city in 2023 has achieved remarkable results, with 8 food enterprises participating in the MIFB on January 13^th and approaching Malaysian customers for intended orders amounting to 28.5 million dollars. During the exhibition, a special docking meeting, “Zhangzhou Flavor”, was successfully held. Zhangzhou Chamber of Import and Export Trade signed the memoranda of cooperation with many businesses, including Malaysia-China General Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Fujian Haishan Tea Industry Co. Ltd, Chinese Food Importer to Malaysia Wanmao Group and the organizing committee of MIFB, in order to expand the markets of RCEP countries. Enterprises of Zhangzhou also carried out business negotiations with relevant industry associations such as The Federation of Malaysia Chinese Guilds Association, Malaysia-China General Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Malaysia Tea Industry Association and Malaysian Halal Association to enhance cooperation intention.

The Municipal Commerce Bureau will select 50 overseas exhibitions as “key exhibitions organized and recommended by Zhangzhou City in 2023”, among which exhibitions of RCEP member countries and countries along the “Belt and Road” will account for 60%, continuously promoting the city’s advantageous industries like food, furniture, watch, and other key industries and enterprises to consolidate their market share. The Bureau will also continue to guide enterprises to fully understand the policy of keeping foreign trade stable, organize exhibitions both online and offline and subsidize enterprises to participate in exhibitions. Going overseas in groups to visit new and old customers, expand economic and trade exchanges and trade cooperation, so as to achieve an initial success of foreign trade in the first quarter in 2023.
