To further seize the development opportunities of Rcep and promote exchanges and cooperation with RCEP member states at a higher level and in wider areas, Jiangmen, the capital of overseas Chinese, has set up a platform for high-level dialogue and exchanges and cooperation with RCEP member states, with overseas Chinese as a bridge. On the afternoon of November 30, Jiangmen Municipal People’s Government, RCEP Industrial Cooperation Committee and China-ASEAN Business Council jointly held an online investment promotion forum titled “Integrating the Greater Bay Area for a shared Future” — Overseas Creation and Innovation Development Zone(Jiangmen) with RCEP. This is an important measure for Jiangmen to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Party’s 20 Major ideas and the spirit of the Standing Committee Meeting of Guangdong Provincial Committee, build the development pattern of “big investment” and implement the project of “empowering overseas Chinese”.
Focusing on Malaysia, the event brought together politicians, businessmen and overseas Chinese from both places. It was the first event of a series of investment promotion activities launched by Jiangmen City for RCEP member states, and showcased the achievements of “Overseas Creation and Innovation Development Zone(Jiangmen)” with RCEP.
Xu Ningning, Executive President of China-ASEAN Business Council and Chairman of RCEP Industrial Cooperation Committee; Zheng Xiaoyi, Deputy Mayor of Jiangmen City; and Mr.Sawaddee, Investment Consul of the Investment Section of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou; Chen Hongbo, Vice Director of TusPark administration Committee, Senior COO of Tusholdings Co., Ltd ,President of International Association of Science Park and Areas of Innovation (IASP),and other leading guests delivered video speeches respectively. Relevant political and business representatives made keynote speeches on RCEP opportunities. Jiangmen and Malaysia both made presentations on investment environment and related industries.
Xu said that the event will help promote the synergy between the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the opening-up and cooperation of the RCEP in Jiangmen, and help local governments and entrepreneurs more effectively integrate into the RCEP economic cooperation circle for common development.

As Jiangmen’s first business attraction event for RCEP member states after the Global Business Attraction Conference in August, this event focuses on Malaysia, which demonstrates the friendly relations between the two places.
Li Taikang, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia-China Business Council, said in his speech that the economies around the world are gradually on the road to recovery, and RCEP will play a key role in this process. It is timely for Jiangmen to hold the Investment promotion event of Overseas Creation and Innovation Development Zone(Jiangmen) with RCEP. We should seize the business opportunities brought by RCEP, further strengthen the close cooperation between Malaysia and China, tap the potential of resources, strengthen bilateral trade relations and create a better future.
At the promotion forum, Jiangmen and Malaysia introduced the investment environment respectively, and sent out investment invitations to the world. Dai Yu, Vice President of Chinese Incense Industry Association ，President of Incense Industry Federation of Xiaogang, Xinhui District, made a speech entitled “Belt and Road! Incense from Xiaogang Floating in the Globe. Song Xueming, General Manager of Taishan GongRong Foods Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Yuanhong Fisheries Group, shared his story of raising eels, further showing the business opportunities in Jiangmen.
The promotion forum was held in 12 sub-venues in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Bangkok, Thailand, London, South Africa, Toronto, Canada, New York, San Francisco, Venezuela, Valencia, Peru, Panama, Hong Kong, China and Macao, which attracted strong responses. The whole event was held online and broadcast live worldwide. Watching the event, our compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao, overseas Chinese, and representatives of enterprises and social organizations were delighted with the success of the event. They all expressed their hope that there would be more cooperation with Jiangmen in the future, share the development opportunities of RCEP and create a better future together.
