What is SEO

As always, I will start by saying I’m not a writer, not an English Language Major, and my punctuation stinks, but I do like to write about things that may help or alert people using the world wide web. Here is my take on What is SEO?

SEO = SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

For your website to succeed, you need to drive as much traffic as possible to the site. There are many ways of getting more traffic, but one of the most popular and effective ways is through this optimization tool.

But what is SEO?

In short, SEO (search engine optimization) is a means of improving the visibility of your website on all Search engines. This includes unpaid search results only, and sophisticated algorithms are used to determine the importance of individual web pages for specific search queries.

Getting the most from your optimization efforts is being about to track the performance of your site with Google Analytics or a similar Search Engine Optimization tool.

Using Google Analytics or Similar Tools , you can see:

  • Number of Visitors
  • Most Popular Pages
  • How Much Time a user spends on your website
  • Popular Keywords
  • and more tracking information.

SEO Marketing (SEM)

Digital marketing is another term, which includes standard SEO. Not to be confused with SEM (Search Engine Marketing), SEO focuses on acquiring traffic organically.

Organically means without paying for your website user traffic.

We can accomplish this through a range of tactics from creating content that’s based around keywords, acquiring backlinks to your website, yet there’s far more to it.

SEM, on the other hand, encompasses SEO and more, so it can include non-organic tactics such as paid search ads (Google Ads), among different marketing strategies. So, when we say digital marketing, you can think of search engine optimization, and the marketing tactics added.

Processes Used

  • Google My Business (Set-up Correctly)
  • Keywords that fit your Niche.
  • Content writing using Keywords
  • Backlink Building . (other websites connecting to you)
  • Local Citations
  • On-Page Optimization
  • Off-Page Optimization

Thanks for stopping by. I will be writing more easy-to-understand blogs about Search Engine Optimization and real-life experiences I’ve found on the world wide web. so come back and visit or follow my blogs. Thank you, Larry “O” Miller, SEO Specialist, Greenville SC.
