Oh MY Foot!

Tags: foot leg skin

Between stilettos or pumps, running for work or walking around for window shopping, it is fair to say that we torture our legs the most. These pain takers deserve our attention, love and pampering. Our face, hands, and body gets the most attention and in looking after these body parts we often forget to worry about our toes, heels and ankle and that’s just not right! We end up rushing to a salon when we see tan or dry Skin on the Leg.

Occasional pedicures at salon seem to be the best option for most of us. But give it a thought; do you think it is enough? It is enough to remove sun tan from the leg but is it enough to properly hydrate the skin and prevent cracked heels?  No matter what lifestyle one lives, legs are more prone to dry skin than any other body part. It is because it has the least oil glands compared to the rest of the skin. To ensure the shine and smoothness of legs it is necessary to use a good lotion.

Luckily there is no rocket science involved in showing some love to your legs. All you need is an easy to incorporate routine. A gentle exfoliation on the legs is the best way to ensure that no dead skin is left and also helps reduce sun tan. When we indulge our feet, we need to pay attention to the toenails and cuticles too. I mean, who doesn’t adore the view of subtle shine on the nails.

A Foot spa at home every night is a must …wait do you think foot spa is tiresome when you do it yourself? The usual long lengthy process of stainless steel scrubber…no let’s move on to something new.

The question still stands

‘How to remove the dead skin from heels’

Easy, just fill a tub of lukewarm water and leave the rest to us. Foot Spa, a specially designed foot care kit for those busy legs is just a 3 step solution. With Boroheal foot wash scrubbing bar, it becomes easy to cleanse and purify the skin. With luffa fibers, exfoliation is well ensured. The secret to this soap lies in its foam. Once you are done scrubbing, massage the entire foot with its foam for 10 -15 minutes and rinse it off. With foot cream and cuticle cream, the care for your legs is complete. But we are not yet done. Here are some must dos to get a well loved look on the leg.

Dry them properly.

Not properly drying your feet can lead to tinea pedis which is also known as athlete’s foot, an infection caused by fungus growth. Shoes are warm and damp inside that makes it an ideal place for bacterial growth. To reduce your risks of fungus, make sure you dry your feet when you get out of your bath or shower, especially the area between your toes.

Give toenails a trim.

Long nails can cause infection and if you have short nail it can cause ingrown toenails. Even if they are covered most of the time, don’t neglect them. Trim the nails and file them to smooth the edges. Try to keep your nails strong and healthy, repeat the process every two to three weeks. Healthy feet need healthy toenails.

Clueless about what to wear

It is not easy to find the right footwear that matched the dress, occasion or the comfort. But you can always ensure certain things for good care of your legs

  • Make sure that the shoe you choose fits your foot shape
  • Try walking to check that there is not much friction between your foot and the insole
  • Allow your foot to breathe, choose footwear which are open as it does not allow bacteria to grow.

Massage your feet

Despite carrying the load of the whole body, a foot has 200,000 nerve ending. Gently massaging the foot can ease those nerves and help relaxing the pain and also works as a great way to unwind the stress.

So, go give yourself those photo ready legs that look great and feel great.

Love
