Five Yogasanas to Calm Your Mind

  1. Sirsasana (Headstand)

This yogasana makes the body upside down, increasing the blood flow into the brain. This posture relieves stress like magic. Practicing this yogasana for five to ten minutes daily provides calmness and awareness. But, you should learn it from a well-trained and experienced teacher; otherwise, you may hurt yourself. While going into the Pose and releasing the pose, you should not give a jerk your body. All the movements should be gentle and smooth.

  1. Balasana (Child’s Pose)

This pose is also known as Sharnagat Mudra. It releases the feeling of anxiety and relaxes the mind. It frees your mind from unwanted thoughts, worries, and stress and gives you clarity. Balasana is not tiring, and you can practice it at your home after a tiring day. You can try it for ten to fifteen minutes and see the difference.

  1. Savasana (Corpse Pose)

This yogasana appears easy, but it shows us how difficult it is to be silent and relaxed and lie down doing nothing and breathe. It refreshes and rejuvenates the mind. You can do it for fifteen to twenty minutes at your home only and feel light and happy.

  1. Sukhasana (Easy Pose)

As the name suggests, this posture is very easy and comfortable. While sitting, you may place a brick or blanket under your hips so that your hips are slightly elevated and your spine is supported. This yogasana has therapeutic effects on mental stress. This pose is often done while meditating and praying.

  1. Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)

Before this pose, you should warm up your body. This pose is not too easy, and you may need some practice initially, but you will do it correctly with practice. Beginners should not hurry to reach the final pose, and even if they couldn’t touch the chest and head to their leg, they should surrender to the pose. It relieves stress and anxiety, which leaves you with a calmer mind.
