Drive Conversions with Engaging Copy

If your website Copy consists of high quality and it engages with your readers, it has the potential to drive conversions. In contrast to this, web copy that is a poor standard will force your visitors to run for the hills.

So, just take a second to let that sink in. Something as simple as your website copy can have a significant impact on the success of your business.

Think about what your visitors are presented with when they arrive at your website. Are they given informative content or do they have to look for what they came for?

To find success online, you have to create compelling copy that resonates an engages with your audience. It is not always a simple task, but if you adopt the correct approach then you can get results.

Take a Look at the Competition

Whatever industry you operate in, you are going to have competitors and there is no doubt that you know who they are. So, at this point, it is time to take a look at their website content and identify the kind of approach that they are adopting. Of course, the aim is to not lift their copy and use it as your own but instead, gain an understanding of the approach that they are taking, as well as the tone that they use.

Just by gaining an understanding of what your competitors are doing, you can create better content, which in turn will enhance your success and profits.

Make the Information Simple to Find

We have all been there. That moment when we come across a website and think “where do I begin”. That mountain of words leaves you hitting the back button and going in search of something that is easier to digest and understand.

The trick is to make your content easy to scan. Set it out with plenty of white space but also use the following:

• Bullet Points
• Headings
• Numbered Lists

When your content is easy to scan, it will encourage people to read it. This increases the likelihood that they will remain at your site until they have taken action.

Important Content has to Stand Out

Every word you write should leave your readers wanting more but the most valuable content should be above the fold. This means that they don’t have to scroll to find exactly what they want. If you present them with this information in the right place, they will start to move on down the page. So, if you are selling a product, ensure that that they can clearly find the benefits as well as any information that will give them even more confidence in what you are offering.

Engage with Your Audience


You might have a clear understanding of who your audience is but it doesn’t mean that you understand how to talk to them. To overcome this problem, why not ask them for their feedback?

Ask them questions such as:

• Why did you choose us?
• Tell us what you like about our content? Is there any way it can be improved?
• Is there anything we could add to our website to make it better for you?

Don’t hold back when it comes to reaching out to your audience. Make sure they give you what you want and use it to create content that kills the competition and gets you results.
