Our Visit to Marriott Singer Island Resort & Spa

Locaction

The first thing we noticed about the Resort is it’s location. It is placed in a prime area on Singer Island, and opens right out onto its own private beach. The resort is 21 stories tall and provides a great view of the beach and the Intracoastal Waterway so that there is not a bad view in the hotel. Although Singer Island is peaceful and secluded, it is close enough to the mainland in case you are looking to explore activities in Palm Beach. And it’s less than a 20 minute drive from the Palm Beach airport!

Accommodations & Services

One thing we were amazed to learn is that only 5.7% of the hotels and resorts rated by AAA receive the four-diamond rating. After walking around the resort, it is easy to see why the Marriott Singer Island was one of the selected few. The 193 guest suites are spaciously designed, and newly renovated. Each room offers its own private balcony, providing breathtaking views of the island and ocean. They also each come with fully equipped kitchens, a separate tub and shower, and an in-suite washer and dryer. If you do ever decide to leave your spacious room, you can wade in the resort’s heated infinity pool. Or, if you are looking for more active activities, there are many resort water sports – surfboards, paddleboards, snorkeling gear, and more – a beach volleyball court, lagoon pool, bike rentals, and even morning yoga. So much to do! And whether it is valet parking or room service, the staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating.

Spa

SiSpa is the resort’s award winning spa. It was name one of Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 100 U.S. Resort Spas! The spa houses eight treatment rooms with heated marble beds, a private outdoor jacuzzi, and several steam/shower areas. During our stay, Hudson and I received a couples massage in the resort’s private couple’s room. It was the most relaxing evening! They offer a whole selection of signature packages, so I think I have an idea of what Hud can get me for our 5 year anniversary. ;) In addition to the massage, I also got a gel manicure and pedicure at the spa. Their nail salon was so private; I loved that it was just me and the technician in the room instead of a crowded space like I am typically used to!

Food

After our relaxing visit to SiSpa we ate at 3800 Ocean, the resort’s signature restaurant. As we ate, we overlooked the sun setting over the ocean. The menu is full of all sorts of delicious steaks and seafoods! Not being able to choose between one or the other, we chose to go with surf and turf and experience the best of both! The restaurant takes advantage of its vast amount of local seafood and produce, so everything tasted extremely fresh.

For a really unique experience, guests can be served a five-course meal directly from the Executive Chef Larry LaValley in what is called the Kitchen Table experience. The chef creates the menu on the spot, so you are sure to get a unique and delicious array of foods!

In addition to 3800 Ocean, the resort also offers several other dining options. There is the 3800 Ocean Lounge, which offers a more casual lunch menu; the Reef Tiki Bar, which serves food directly on the beach; Lagoon Cantina, which offers several mexican specialties and is located right by the pool; and the Ocean Breeze Café which provides wraps and salads as a grab-and-go option.
