What To Bear In Mind When Planning A Hen Party

When planning a hen party, there are a few things to bear in mind in order to have the best time possible. We would like to suggest a few topics for you to focus on to ensure you have not left any stone unturned; that way you will have more time to focus on the bride-to-be, each other, and having a great time!

Who?

We are talking about the guest-list here! Now whether this particular task has been assigned to you we don’t know. If you have been handed one already then you don’t need to worry but otherwise it’s good to get a solid figure in your head to work with. Certain family members and besties are definites but if you are unsure just ask the bride-to-be herself! You don’t have to give anything away and it’s better having done that and thus avoided inviting any unwanteds.

Where?

The location is very much determined by the budget and who is going. If everyone is funding themselves then bear in mind that not everyone could stretch to a weekend in Barcelona - you could even have two separate parties at home and abroad to accommodate everyone in such a case. Think about where you are all going to have the best time, and make sure it’s somewhere the bride-to-be will be at least comfortable with.

When?

This may seem like an invalid question but it is again something to bear in mind. Think about peoples availability and therefore giving them plenty of notice if they need to book time off. Gone are the days of hen parties and stag dos right before the night of the weddings so that is out of the question, for obvious reasons. Also, think about the seasons in regards to how busy venues are going to be, the type of peoples who are going to be there, and of course our ever unpredictable weather!

What?

If you just want a nice meal and a night out that is fine, we are sure all hen parties include that at some point anyway. But, if you do want to use this as an opportune moment to do something a bit different then bear in mind the tastes of the bride. If she likes music, go to a gig, if she is into the outdoors, book some leisure activities. The range of activities at the moment is huge! Also, if you are going out then consider fancy dress – we know it can be a faff, but it’s worth it when you all turn up in your various themed costumes, and then think about the hen party accessories you could include on the way!

Why?

Why what, you ask? Why are you planning this hen party in the first place? For that special someone in your life who is about to take the plunge with their special someone. Basically, make sure it is going to be an enjoyable experience for her. Embarrass her a bit along the way if you must, just make sure she’s still smiling at the end.
