The perfect Brides speech

If you’re like me and you’re constantly chatting away the last thing you want to do is not get a word in on your Wedding day! It’s becoming increasingly popular to throw tradition out the window and for a bride to make a Speech on her big day! Below are some Do’s and Don’ts when planning your wedding speech.

DO:

Make sure you plan exactly what you want to say, this is cut out a multitude of errors. Imagine going through your whole speech and forgetting a really important thank you or worse forgetting the groom!

DON’T:

Babble on as much as people will love to hear from you they won’t want a half an hour presentation about irrelevant things. Keep it short and sweet with no ‘Private Jokes’ as unfortunately no one else will find them funny.

DON’T:

Have one to many before your speech, I’m with you on having a few to calm your big day nerves but a slurred speech would not be a good idea.

DO:

Make it personal and really emphasise your thank you’s. I would highlight your partner’s family it’s a great way to score brownie points as the newbie!

DO:

Make it unique, people are always prepared for wedding speeches as they are normally pretty similar. Make your speech different, maybe a poem!

The most important thing to remember with your wedding speech is that it’s you and your partner’s special day, if it feels right to you then its right, your both what really matters!
