Congratulations Ellen Jones, you and your fabulous hens are our hen party of the week! It looks like you had an amazing time on your hen party last month, and we want to show everyone just how much fun you had in Bristol.
37-year-old Welsh lass, Ellen, met her toy boy hubby-to-be, Garry, on Facebook. They are from the same area, but she was very disappointed to find out he was in a relationship at the time - but cheekily ‘poked’ him a few times anyway! Then in September 2011 she spotted his single relationship status, and pounced. “We exchanged messages, pictures and the rest is history.” She says. Garry then proposed two years later and they are getting married in April this year, Ellen says that he is the love of her life. “The two of us are soul mates, he is quiet and relaxed and I’m as mad as a hatter. I’m a wild child who has been tamed.”
Ellen explains that the proposal was perfect for her, Eric Clapton ‘you look wonderful tonight’ was playing in the background with candles lit around the room. “He had a pizza from dominoes with the proposal written on the box when I opened it, there was a missing slice and in its place there was a box with my ring in….very romantic in the right kind of way for me as I did not expect it at all.” She says.
Ellen loved the sound of UKGirlThing’s 80’s Dance Class Experience in Bristol, including After Dark, she says. “Bristol is not too far to travel for us as I didn’t want to go too far as we were only going for one night. Also I’ve heard that the nightlife is good in Bristol too and when enquired I could see the cost of the package was within our budget.”
An excited Ellen made sure all of her hens dressed up in 80’s fancy dress which they wore for the Dance Class. “I had a personalised black top on with the date of my wedding and I dressed up as a wild child from the 80’s together with a wig and attached veil.” She says. “It was so funny as my mother arrived as Freddie Mercury and even went into song in the middle of a pub.” Adding that they dressed up nice and smart for the evening with sashes – but lowered the tone with willy glasses around their necks.
The girls arranged for a surprise party bus so that the hens could travel in style to Bristol, Ellen says. “OMG it was fab! I did not have a clue about this and it was a complete shock when this huge bus arrived at my door. On the bus there was karaoke, a dance pole, smoke machine, lights and props to dance and have fun with and also 8 bottles of bubbly. It was amazing. We laughed, danced and drank all the way up to Bristol. The bus made such an impact outside the hotel in Bristol too!”
The drinking didn’t stop there either, the girls caused a stir in the hotel because of their fancy dress and had a few drinks at the bar when they arrived before heading to a pub were they carried on drinking and ate lunch. After the dance class they headed to their restaurant reservation where the drinks carried on flowing before ending in a club after a full-day drinking session.
Ellen and her hens played a number of games throughout the day. “We played willy bingo, a Mr & Mrs quiz and we also used dare cards. We had shot glasses around our necks, so if anyone didn’t do a dare then they had to drink from the glass.” She says. They also carried their blow-up friend, with a very realistic private part, ‘Richard’ *wink wink* around with them all weekend! UKGirlThing have put together 10 quick games to get your hen party started here.Ellen absolutely loved her hen party weekend with UKGirlThing. “The whole day and night was amazing, we laughed from start to finish. The bus was amazing and such a surprise, I didn’t want to get off. The dance class was brilliant, hard work believe it or not, but brilliant. In fact we’re going to do the dance in the wedding. The dance instructor was fab and had patience of a saint with us lot as we were quite rowdy. We had so much fun, the class started with games and then finished with the dance routine and Vogue by Madonna then became the song of the weekend.” She says.
|Ellen wants to do her hen party all over again, adding. “Could not fault UKGirlThing, the service was fab, the hotel was fab and the package was fab! We all loved it.” Good luck for the big day Ellen!|
