After weeks of excited chatter in the office, (mainly from the boys!) Wednesday had finally arrived and the Bubble Football team trip was here.
Old School Sorts day
The evening started with an old school sports day event, everyone split into their teams, red versus blue, first up was Dodgeball- “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”! from the movie…Dodgeball!Dodgeballs were flying all over the shop as everyone tried to duck and dive their way from attack! Everyone managed to escape with no injuries I am happy to report!
Next up was binocular football, now if like me you have no idea at all what this involves; think rallying your way around cone obstacles with a ball, whilst wearing glasses that completely distort your perspective. From prancing through the cones like a ballerina trying to be as dainty as possible (girls!) to full throttle running and knocking all the cones over in the process (boys!) this event certainly gave everyone the giggles!
Finally, the main event was upon us, it was Bubble Football time!!
What is bubble football?
To try and put this into some kind of context bubble football is like having a kick about with the lads 5- a- side style, whilst in a small inflatable zorb (except no one can fake injury on the pitch). The suits were being pumped full of air as everyone got more and more giddy raring to go! We were strapped into the bubble around the shoulders and had two handles to hold onto and just our legs poking out of the bottom.
Other bubble football games
We also took part in other bubble football games. The childhood favourite Bulldog was first up where Jo, the nominated Bulldog tried to catch the others as they charged from one end of the pitch to the other trying not to get caught by the Bulldog (harder than it looks I can assure you!)
