Real Life Hen - Felicity Hill

Congratulations to Felicity Hill, you are our hen party of the week! You and your hens wowed us so much that we hand-picked you to feature as our real life hen case study this week.
The Welsh girl was born and bred in Newport and met her hubby-to-be, Greg, in a nightclub in their hometown 7 years ago. Felicity woos over her awaited proposal. “While on holiday in Thailand we went to PiPi Island – where the film ‘The Beach’ was filmed – and it is referred to as Paradise Island. When we were about to go into the water I turned around and Greg was down on one knee with a ring and asked ‘will you marry me?’”

Felicity’s bridesmaid, Rhian, took on the great responsibility of planning the hen Weekend, and decided on Nottingham for its fantastic nightlife, and managed to keep the whole shebang a secret from the hen!

The hens all made a huge effort to make Felicity’s weekend Absolutely perfect with personalised t-shirts and dressed up for the occasion. “I was dressed as a pink flamingo and everyone else dressed as my Hawaiian dancers as we are going to Hawaii for the honeymoon!” Felicity says.

The rowdy Hawaiian dancers jumped on the train from Wales to Nottingham and drank themselves into fits of giggles with lots and lots of Prosecco whilst playing some funny riddles.

When they arrived in Robin Hood’s country they carried on drinking before deciding they needed some grub in their tums to help soak up some of them bubbles! “We went to Bella Italia the first night which was lovely and everyone enjoyed it.” Felicity explains that the food over the weekend was great, and just what the girls needed after their heavy drinking sessions. “When we woke up we had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel, both mornings the breakfast was super and enjoyed by all. We had a spa day at the hotel and were given wraps, crisps and a chocolate fondue with fruit and profiteroles. In the evening we did a Girl’s Night In and they gave us food – which was absolutely fantastic. Our party included 3 vegetarians and a vegan and the hotel were brilliant and provided veggie and vegan food. We had pizza, battered fish, burgers, chips and salad, it was brilliant!”

Rhian loved organising Felicity’s hen weekend, even if it was stressful at times. “Nothing was too much trouble for UKGirlThing and my very many (sometimes silly!) questions were answered with really helpful information and with a very friendly attitude which helped put my mind at rest as times became a bit more stressful closer to the event.”

The hens loved the Hotel and the surprises kept on coming for Felicity when she found a bottle of champagne waiting for her in the room – just to carry on the bubbly celebration.

Rhian explains her love for the Pole Dancing Class and the excitement they all faced when they saw a giant hoop suspended from the ceiling. “The day activity of pole dancing was a brilliant laugh! The instructor who taught the pole dancing class was really down to earth and had us all laughing and giggling and made for a fantastic day activity.”

Felicity was shell-shocked by her surprise VIP night out that Rhian had tricked her into. “We headed back to the hotel without telling the bride to be – and told her we were going to bed before proceeding to take her to the secret door opposite the breakfast area for the red carpet VIP entry. The look on her face was priceless when we stood the other side of a door behind which you could hear the party tunes! We then had champagne for everyone (included with the package) and our own area which was great for the legs which were feeling a bit weary!” Rhian says.

Rhian explains that the Girl’s Night In was a fantastic end to an incredible weekend. “We were allowed to decorate it as we liked so created a party room filled with balloons, wall banners and created a photo wall of the bride-to-be. There was a Wii with some games which could also be used as a DVD player and a dock for you to get your own music going.” She says.

Rhian says that the hens had an absolutely amazing weekend. “Memories were made which will certainly last a lifetime and the bride-to-be couldn’t believe how many activities we crammed into one weekend! The price was absolutely amazing value for what was included and everyone in the party commented on how good value the package was.” Felicity adds that she loved absolutely everything on her hen weekend. “I couldn’t pin-point one highlight, it was absolutely perfect and unforgettable spot-on weekend.”

Good luck for the big day Felicity!
